iEducateUSA held a tribute to David Raj at the Crockett Elementary School on Friday, Dec 13, 2013. The event also included a showcase of the iEducateUSA program’s achievements at the elementary school. Special guests included Teta Banks (President UNA-Houston), Ramesh Cherivirala (President-elect IACF), Anil Kumar (Samskriti). The program was covered by Jawahar Malhotra or the Indo-American News.
The event had performances by students of Crockett Elementary School, including instrumental and vocal performances, poetry reading, and words from tutored students who have benefited from the iEducateUSA program. We also heard from the school’s principal (Claudia Chavez), teachers (Carmen Johnson, Alex Guerro) and UofH tutors on the program’s history and successes.
Finally, Ramesh Cherivirala recounted the history of the iEducateUSA program, beginning with its formation and spin-off through IACF. Present board members also shared their experiences with the audience.
