Announcements

        • The Tutor End of Semester (EOS) Survey is now live.  The purpose of the survey is to gather information about tutor perceptions of satisfaction, effectiveness and impact to inform our programmatic strategy and decision making.  The EOS survey due date and link can be found in the action items section.

        • We are still finishing up the 3rd/final observations of the semester, but overall, the tutor cohort for this spring has exceeded our instructional competency goals for planning, instruction, and learning environment.  This is a direct result of the growth you’ve all shown by implementing feedback from coaching and development sessions, as well as collaborating with your teachers and coordinators. Thank you for all of the amazing work you do supporting students!

        • Shout out to all tutors for exceeding our goals last week in the areas of on-time clock-ins, shifts served, and tutors submitting the number of DDTs aligned with their schedules!

        • Shout out to Edith Carrillo, Daniela Leal Medina, Marina Ly, Joselyn Aguilar, and Juliana Barrera for proactively messaging Slack General Support, using the message template provided in the Action Items section, to provide an explanation for their “Other” selection in their DDT as the reason for not holding a scheduled small group.

        • As a reminder, we will continue to focus on increasing our progress to goal for the percentage of DDTs in which tutors indicate they held a scheduled small group.  If you cannot hold a scheduled small group, ensure you accurately record the reason why in your DDT submission for that group.  If you select “Other” as the reason for not holding a scheduled small group, message General Support.  See Action Items for details.

        • As a reminder, your support of prioritized students in all parts of the lesson cycle during whole group instruction counts as minutes of tutoring to submit in your DDTs.
          • For example, if you support your prioritized students in the introduction to new material, guided practice, and independent practice portion of the lesson, all of those lesson parts count.  You would enter the total minutes of all of that support in one DDT.  If the time you are with the small group in class exceeds the maximum option of 90 minutes, input 90 minutes.
          • The only time you would not enter minutes of support in a DDT is if you are just circulating in class not supporting a group of students for longer than 15 minutes or if the class was not held that day (i.e., field trip, assembly).
          • If you have any questions about how to record your minutes during whole group instruction in a DDT, reach out to your manager.

        • The Tutor Interest and Demographic Survey for the fall 2025 semester will be sent out next week.  Monitor your email and submit the survey by the stated deadline.

        • iEducate tutors are invited to participate in an exclusive Student Transfer Event for aspiring teachers. This virtual event is designed specifically for those in a community college program who are considering completing a bachelor’s degree in teaching and learning.  The event will be a great opportunity to ask questions and explore the next steps to complete a bachelor’s degree and become a certified teacher.  Here is a flyer with QR codes for event sign up.

      • End of Semester Stakeholder Thank You Letters – iEducate highly encourages you to thank coordinators and partner teachers for the support they have provided you over the course of the semester.  To support you in this, a Thank You Letter Template can be found here.  Feel free to use it or adapt it as a no-cost way of showing coordinators and partner teachers your appreciation.  Please also remember that per our Tutor Handbook, tutors are not allowed to give individual students gifts.
      • End of Semester Make Up Shift Opportunity: – Tutors that are interested in signing up for additional shifts will have the opportunity to do that in the final month of the semester.
      • Prioritized Student Changes –  This week is the last week of the  STAAR testing window.  As a result, if prioritized students were changed during the last several weeks, all tutors should go back to working with the prioritized students they were assigned before STAAR practice and the STAAR testing window. After testing, reach out via your cohort account if you are not working with the prioritized students assigned to you prior to STAAR testing prep.
      • Cohort Session Attendance and Engagement (Reminders):
        • Attendance reminder: Cohort sessions are mandatory professional development sessions.  All tutors must attend cohort sessions.  If – for whatever reason – you cannot attend a cohort session, you are required to proactively alert iEducate via your cohort account.  Please make every effort to proactively alert iEducate as early as possible.  Tutors that have not proactively communicated an attendance concern and fail to attend the cohort session – or whose reason for the absence is not approved – will receive a write up.
        • Engagement reminder: Tutors should plan to attend virtual cohort sessions in a location that is safe, free from distractions and allows you to actively engage in Pear Deck with your cameras on at all times.   If you do not have access to a computer with a camera, please proactively reach out to your cohort account to alert staff.
    • Clock Out Procedure (Reminder): Tutors have been doing a phenomenal job clocking into their shifts on time. Please double down on your responsibility to clock out on time as well.  Tutors should plan to wrap up their work and clock out by the end of their scheduled shift.  If a coordinator or partner teacher asks you to stay after your shift, ask them to reach out to the iEducate Senior Manager assigned to their school to discuss.
